Springfield, Guilford county 5th Mo 4th 1818

Esteemed Brother

This may inform that we are at the House of our friend & relation Joch Gilbert in whose house lives his aged father Jeremiah he is Kerins near relation we met with a kind reception we got safe to P Albertsons on the 7th day 2nd Instent being [somding?] we moved here yesterday after attending Meeting at Springfield being 10 days on the road. We nearly lost 1 day by shoeing our horses in [rush?] at Wm Birts were very kind to us which we received with gratitude, for our sakes if if should happen to thy lot to do them the like faviour I should Esteem it as done to me, we were a little woisted that evening after we parted from thee owing to that could rain Since we have got along as well as I could have Expected, tho Somthing Indisposed my wife Sally has very deep colds. Isaac has been verry unwell in Short the whole of us has been under complaint more of lefs tho these few days of rest I hope will very much [recuit?] us, I think it is something like seasoning to the road our friends in these parts are well generally so I did not call at Benaiah Hiatts being so far out of the way have not seen any friends from new garden we hope this will find thee & family well, remember my near affection to My sister Judith & her children & also to Polly & hers tell them I feell great desires for there Preservation & advancemint in the truth I am not able to give much Information at this time. Please inform Eli Copeland that David has been Quit well & cheerfull is gone to Center to see his sisters will return tomorrow but not time enough to have the information from them, as this Must be Mailed early 4th day morning I know of nothing more to Communicate so remain with Every degree of affection & simpathy thy Brother
